What is Maker Faire?

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects. At the Tampa Mini Maker Faire you’ll see a celebration of the creative Maker community in Tampa!

It will be held at the Glazer Children’s Museum, located at 110 W Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa, FL 33602

What should I expect?

Expect to see things that will amaze and inspire! Tampa Mini Maker Faire is being curated so that there’s lots of interactive fun, demonstrations, art performance, and a collection of Makers that show the wide range of skills and creativity in this community. From crochet to metal work, coding to puppets, miniature models to giant models… there’s a bit of everything! And, there might be robots.

Who produces Tampa Mini Maker Faire?

A joint effort by the Glazer Children’s Museum and the Tampa Hackerspace brings you the Tampa Mini Maker Faire! Read more here.  Each Maker Faire is independently produced and funded and will be around for some time to come!

 

Is it child-friendly?

Sure is! This is a family-friendly event so children of all ages along with caregivers, aunts, uncles and grandparents can come along and enjoy!

 

Can I sell what I make at the Tampa Mini Maker Faire?

Absolutely you can! When you are signing up on the Call for Makers, you just select “Commercial Maker”.  There is a small fee of $50 to sell at the faire and a link will be sent shortly after acceptance of your registration.
